TDK announces new SSD controller-equipped porprietario with an advanced wear leveling algorithm to extend the duration over time of memory chips

The website Xbit Labs brings the debut of the new line of SSD TDK SDG4A designed for industrial applications and controller-based owner GBDRiver RS4. The main objective that TDK tries to pursue this line of storage solutions is to offer high reliability thanks to a series of expedients.
The new SSD, equipped with eMLC NAND memories, will be available in 2.5-inch form factor in capacities from 64GB to 512GB. According to data released by the company, the new SSD solutions offer a SDG4A 130MB/se read speed of 180MB / s write. The units are compliant to Serial ATA 2.6, with support for TRIM and NCQ technology.
The discs are also SDG4A based on improved wear leveling algorithms that distribute the writing of the information on all the blocks of memory in order to extend the duration in time of the flash memory chip.Even the blocks "static" as those for the operating system, periodically undergo an operation of wear leveling. According to what TDK, assuming a volume of writing daily 10GB of data, from a capacity of 16GB SSD is capable of supporting more than 200 years of rewrites. The setting of the static wear leveling can be decided freely.
The controller also supports a feature to GBDriver tolerance to voltage sags and is equipped with various advanced features such as ECC functions that make use of 71 bit per 512 bytes, automatic error correction mechanisms and encryption AES 128 - bit.
SGD4A SSDs will be available shortly, at a price not yet announced.
