Microsoft able to garner a share of 7.5% in the market of tablet solutions during the first quarter of 2013; iOS still in the lead, but the Android terminals continue to converge, the market is growing at record levels: +117% in sales compared to the same period last year
They were about 3 million tablets based on Windows 8 and Windows RT sold during the first three months of 2013, according to data from Strategy Analytics . With these volumes Microsoft partner and tablet makers have reached a market share of 7.5%, which is very interesting considering how one years ago the share was in fact zero.
In the first quarter of 2013 have been sold approximately 40.6 million tablets branded type, a figure that shows a strong growth in the sector on an annual basis, an increase of 117%. Change the division between the types of devices, with iOS models that increase in volumes but they decline in market share to the benefit of Android products and those of Windows as shown.
E 'is therefore evident that the tablet sales continue to grow, but that is an ongoing redistribution between the various manufacturers of operating systems. Apple is repositioning, and the proposals for Android continue to grow in volume. It is possible that between the second and third quarter of 2013 Android tablets may come to exceed those based on operating system iOS in terms of sales volumes quarterly.
And 'interesting to note that the spread of Android tablet reaches 52% of the total, with the iOS tablet repositioned to 41% of the total, are counted when the tablet also known as White-Box. These are the cheaper end models, developed by ODM partner for other companies that rimarchiano these products so as to place them on the market under its own brand.
